Facts, not swing tips

Every session gets a short summary: how it went in a few sentences, then only the few numbers that matter. Add your own note (what you worked on, how it felt) and the summary takes it into account.

No drills and no swing advice. Paragraph tells you what happened, and leaves the coaching to your coach.

Summary · example

A good session for your hybrid, but your irons came down a little flatter than usual.

The 4 hybrid carried 182 on average, five more than last month, and most of them finished on your target line. The 7 iron landed at 41°, a few degrees under its window, as it did in your last two sessions.

Written 2 days ago, with your note
Progress · example

Long game: your driver carries 12 yards further than in your first weeks, and its launch is now in its window.

Irons: the 5 to 7 irons have held steady; the 8 and 9 still launch a little high.

Biggest change: fewer slices with the driver, down from about one in three to one in eight.

Know your numbers, and see them move

Half swings and mishits are left out, so the numbers are your real full swing, and every session adds to the picture, so you can see what's changing over the weeks and months.

  • Every club's carry, and where the gaps in your bag are too big or too small.
  • How wide and how long your shots land, so you know how much room to aim for.
  • Your shot shape: draw, fade or slice, and which clubs curve the most.
  • What's getting better, and your longest ever with each club.

See the shape of every shot

Paragraph sorts every full swing by where it started and which way it curved, and counts how many finished on target: a push-draw, a straight one or a pull-fade.

  • One number to follow: how many of your shots had a good shape, and whether it's going up.
  • Club by club: your best-shaped club, your most improved, and your most common miss.
  • Every shape, counted: where each club's shots start and curve, against the months before.

Take your numbers to the course

Print a yardage card from your range sessions and keep it in your bag: how far each club really carries, not how far it went that one time.

  • Carry: your typical full swing, the number to play to.
  • Range and good day: where most of your shots land, and how far it goes when you catch it.
  • The gaps called out: the yardages no club covers, and which club to take there.

Find the holes that cost you

Your scorecards marked the way you'd mark them on paper, and beyond the card, where the strokes really go and how your scores and handicap move over time.

  • Where the strokes go: every hole's score, blow-ups, putting and the holes that cost the most.
  • Your eclectic: the dream round you've already played, your best on every hole of each course.
  • Your handicap and scores on one timeline, next to your range sessions.
  • Nine and 18 holes kept apart, so they compare fairly.

Something to chase between rounds

Medals for how far and how fast you hit it, how often you practise and how you score, earned from the sessions and rounds you upload.

  • Bronze to platinum, with special medals along the way: the LPGA and PGA Tour averages for distance and speed, single figures and scratch for your scores.
  • Up next: the three medals you're closest to, and how far there is to go.
  • Earned on the day: a new medal shows up the moment a session or round earns it.

Bring the data you already have

Range sessions

From your launch monitor, whether it's your own or the one in your range's bays, as long as it saves a CSV. Drop it in and Paragraph matches its columns for you. Check them once and it remembers, so after the first import it's just upload and read.

Questions

›Do I need my own launch monitor?

No, but your range numbers do come from one: yours, or the one in your range’s bay, as long as its app lets you save your shots. Your rounds on their own give you scorecards, where the strokes go and your handicap over time.

›Why not just use my launch monitor’s or my watch’s app?

They show you every number and leave the rest to you. Paragraph cuts through them: a short summary of each session and round, the few numbers that matter, and what's changing over the weeks, with every number still there when you want it. It also keeps your range sessions and your rounds together, from every device you've used.

›Which launch monitors does it work with?

Any that can save your shots as a CSV file. Paragraph matches the file's columns for you, and remembers them for next time.

›Where do my rounds come from?

From Garmin Golf: ask Garmin for your account’s data export, then upload the zip it emails you. Or upload a CSV of your scores from another app or your own spreadsheet.

›Will it tell me how to fix my swing?

No. It tells you what your numbers show: what went well, what changed and where the strokes go. How to swing is between you and your coach.

›Can I take my data with me, or delete it?

Yes. You can download everything at any time, and delete all of it (or your whole account) from Settings.
